In this episode of the Guru Magazine podcast, Dr Stu gives us a rundown of his top ten TV medical myths. It appears that House MD wasn’t always right. News Guru Simon Makin then goes behind stage to meet the comedy outfit, Festival of the Spoken Nerd. It’s enough to get anyone’s pulse racing.

Dissecting the hospital drama

They are all suckers for a good medical drama, but Dr Stu explains that the best shows often bear little relation to reality. Busting some popular myths, he reveals the truth about what doctors wear, how they save lives and how often they nip off to the back room for a quickie.

In the middle segment, News Guru Simon Makin’s meets up with Helen Arney, Matt Parker, Steve Mould and guest comedian Simon Watt: members of ‘Festival of the Spoken Nerd’. The comedy trio (plus Simon) chat about how they manage to turn science and mathematics into a successful stand up show.
